Residents in Schools Initiative (RISI) - $45,000

To provide second year funding to improve the health and well-being of children in Columbus schools while providing an educational experience for residents to improve their understanding of children, schools and community resources, in hopes that the experience will inspire them to make advocacy part of their future practice.

The Ohio State University Foundation

A Partnership for Health Care Education for Limited English Proficiency Patients - Up to $71,500

A collaboration of OSU, Mount Carmel and OhioHealth to develop an online inventory of current, non-technical, culturally appropriate health care and health promotion materials in foreign languages to be available to all organization serving LEP populations.

Asian American Community Services - $1,000

2004 GenerAsian NeXt Youth Leadership Conference

To support a one-day conference for youth in order to influence leadership through cultural generation gap understanding and the prevention of alcohol and drug abuse through stress awareness and management

LEADER Institute

To fully incorporate the body image, self-esteem and nutrition workshop into the training.

Hilliard Station 6th Grade - $500

Free, Exotic Fruit Program

To encourage all students, to develop a nutritionally sound eating program through the provision of free fresh fruit.

Ohio Academy of Science - $1,000

2004 Ohio Science Day Health Exhibits Sponsorship

To support State Science Day through the sponsorship of health exhibit tables

Youth On A Mission -$1,000

Building A Better Youth Program

To support youth in weekly summer sessions that discussion proper nutrition and exercise choices.

YWCA

Youth Challenging Racism 2004 - $500

To support the training of youth in Franklin County strategies to avoid violence associated with racism and prepare action plans for their schools.
